Confirmation |
Confirmation is the Sacrament that completes Baptism, the gift of the Holy Spirit is bestowed upon us. The Holy Spirit descended on us on Pentecost. We are given seven gifts of the Holy Spirit wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piet and fear of the Lord. The Sacrament is administered by the Bishop, but in an emergency and priest can as well. You have to be baptized to receive the Sacrament and you can only receive Confirmation once. An indelible spiritual mark imprints the soul when you are consecrated. you complete Baptismal grace and are full of the Holy Spirit. The Bishop ministers the words "Be sealed with the gift of the Holy Spirit" by laying his hands on you with Holy Chrism. The Rite is the Calling of the names: a member of the church calls the names of those who are going to be confirmed. At this time they also renew there baptismal vows.

My Sponsor
I chose my grandpa, he is one of the best mans i know. He has been through a lot in his life ever since he was a child, but he always had Christ with him. He is a very kind and caring man, he was do anything for his family. He always saw the best in people. Even when his wife died of breast cancer, he stayed strong through it knowing he will see her again. I want to live a life like is, he has a strong faith filled life. He always put his family first because that is the most important thing to him.

St. Lawrence
St. Lawrence was a deacon at the time of Pope Sixtus II, he was in charge of handling the treasure and caring for the sick and poor. He was willing to die for his cause for defending the less fortunate. He gave what was his to the people who needed it more than him. I chose St. Lawrence because he defended people that he cared for and couldn't care themselves. I want to take care and help people the same way he did. he did everything through Christ and i want to do the same. Even at the worse of times he always had a sense of humor and i felt like that was very important because he knew he was going to die but, he also knew he was going to be with Christ.
